From a stamp card for our own café to loyalty any venue can use
- Role
- Founder, sole engineer
- What it runs on
- Go, PostgreSQL, PassKit
Why I built it
We wanted a stamp-card loyalty program for our own café, OVRIDE. Paper cards get lost, and the ready-made tools either made customers install yet another app or kept the data locked with the vendor. I figured other venues had the same problem, so I built it as a product.
How it works
The card sits in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, so nobody installs anything, and it changes the moment a stamp is added. A single deployment holds every venue, with each venue's data in its own tenant. Owners get campaigns, statistics and a way to message their customers.
What it runs on
- Go and PostgreSQL, one codebase for every venue
- Wallet passes signed with PKCS#7 and refreshed over APNs push, through the PassKit web service
- Login with Google or Sign in with Apple, and Viva Wallet subscriptions invoiced through Oblio
Where it stands
It runs the OVRIDE café's loyalty program, and a new venue can start the same day it signs up.
